Tip #1

Just because you have a budget, don't think you can't achieve a fabulous look. A good designer can achieve a similar look to look like that $5,000 Pinterest wedding. By replacing certain flowers with cheaper alternatives, you can get the same design for a lot less.

Weddings on a budget

Tip #2

Don't show a picture from Pinterest to your florist and expect to get a cheap quote. Most of the bouquets you pin will start at $125. Many are $175-$250 because these bouquets are mostly made up of expensive special order flowers and are made to be show pieces. Have a price in mind that you want to spend on your bouquet and give that price to the florist. They will tell  you what they can do for that amount.

Tip #3

For a cheaper alternative to table arrangements, use baby's breath in a mason jar or other vase with tea light candles scattered around. At most you will have $10-$15 per table in fresh flowers.

Tip #4

NEVER ask if silks are cheaper. Silks are going to be the same price as fresh and sometimes more expensive. For your special day, fresh flowers are the only way to go. Don't cheapen your wedding by using silks. After the wedding is over, you won't be using or even looking at your wedding flowers again. Use silks and they go in a box in the attic to collect dust. Fresh are disposable, cheaper, and more elegant.

Tip #1

A must have for a showstopper ceremony is an arch with fresh flowers and a bouquet made to be a showpiece. Flowers on every row of seating down the aisle with a runner and rose petals are a must have.

Tip #5

You don't have to put flowers on every table. Use lanterns or candles on every other table to keep costs at a minimum.

Tip #6

Don't feel like you have to spend lots of money on your wedding. Just because your friend Beth had a $25,000 wedding doesn't mean you have to try and have one too. At most, the ceremony and reception will last about 4-5 hours.  You wouldn't buy a new car only to drive it half a day would you?

Tip #2

For the ceremony, the cake is the centerpiece. Have your cake decorator use the same flowers from your wedding on the cake to tie everything together. No cake should be left bare.

Tip #3

Table centerpieces need to be tall and up high to allow your guests to see each other. Use a tall vase with long flowers for that extra flare of elegance.

Tip #4

Flowers flowers and more flowers. Don't overkill the ceremony and the reception with flowers, but place arrangements in appropriate places to add to the ambiance and keep the design flowing.

Tip #5

Big bouquets are not always better. Don't order a big bouquet if you are 5'2 and 130 pounds. You are the focus of the event, not your bouquet. Get a bouquet that compliments your size.
